    <p><strong><span>Education Assistant Position</span></strong></p>
    
    <p><span> </span></p>
    
    <p><span>Art Around the Corner and Multiple-Visit Outreach Programs at the
    National Gallery of Art is seeking a an Education Assistant.<span>  </span>A position description and application
    instructions follow.</span></p>
    
    <p><span> </span></p>
    
    <p><span>The Education Assistant assists with and supports the office and studio management
    of Multiple-Visit and Outreach Programs, which include Art Around the Corner,
    the Mini-Multiple-Visit program, and others to be determined.<span>  </span>With guidance from the Senior Educator and
    Manager of Multiple-Visit and Outreach Programs, the Education Assistant
    assists with logistics and details of these programs in terms of locations,
    food service, materials, transportation, signage, travel, equipment, set-up,
    clean-up, and other needs. In addition, the Education Assistant assists with:</span></p>
    
    <p><span> </span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>contractual
    processes for classroom teachers, contract educators, caterers and bus
    companies. </span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>compiling
    and maintaining program records and filing, including attendance statistics,
    permission slips, student and teacher reflections, and program evaluations.</span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>the programs’
    professional development workshops for gallery and classroom teachers, and with
    meetings with principals and classroom teachers at participating schools.</span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>layout
    and editing of program publications and mounting of student art exhibitions.</span></p>
    
    <p><span>The Education
    Assistant takes primary responsibility over:</span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>organization
    of the artmaking studio, maintaining an inventory of supplies and resource
    materials, preparing supplies in advance of program dates, and setting up
    studio spaces for artmaking activities.</span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>maintaining
    program cameras and database of program photography of students, teachers and
    families.</span></p>
    
    <p><span>The Education
    Assistant may be asked to support the programs by:</span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>assisting
    with research and writing of lesson plans and supporting information for
    curriculum. </span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>occasionally
    teaching in the galleries and studio, using effective, age-appropriate
    methodologies,<span>  </span>managing group dynamics,
    and engaging students and families. </span></p>
    
    <p><span>The Education
    Assistant assists with other departmental programs, as directed by supervisor.</span></p>
    
    <p><span>The Education
    Assistant must be able to work a flexible schedule, as this position requires
    some weekend work to oversee the implementation of outreach programs for
    families.</span></p>
    
    <p><span>REQUIRED BACKGROUND</span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>Undergraduate
    degree in art history, museum education, art education, museum studies or
    equivalent experience, graduate degree welcome. Knowledge of European and
    American art. Knowledge of and facility with art materials.</span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>One
    year of specialized experience in art museum or elementary education, including
    teaching.</span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>Experience
    managing administrative projects in an arts, education, and or/museum setting.</span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>Excellent
    organizational, verbal and written communication skills.</span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>Ability
    to organize and implement various projects simultaneously within established
    deadlines and to respond quickly, courteously and knowledgeably to requests for
    information and materials.</span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>Ability
    to follow through on details, not lose sight of goals, maintain priorities, and
    implement plans.</span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>A clear
    speaking voice, excellent human relation skills. Ability to deal courteously
    and in a responsible manner with a wide variety of people in writing, in
    person, and on the telephone.</span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>Experience
    in problem solving and troubleshooting.</span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>Proficiency
    in using computers and office equipment, including knowledge of PhotoShop,
    InDesign and Excel.</span></p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>      
    </span></span></span><span>Bilingual
    English/Spanish a plus.</span></p>
    
    <p><span> </span></p>
    
    <p><span> </span></p>

     a 32 year old center of research in visualization and media, is seeking
     a Visual Arts undergraduate to do design, photography and writing for 
    the IRC's outreach materials. The position begins as soon as possible 
    this summer and will continue during all semesters through Spring of 
    2021, possibly including next summer as well. Hours are 20 hours/wk this
     summer and up to 16 hrs/wk during the semesters.The pay begins at 
    $13/hr.</div><div><br></div><div>This is an excellent opportunity to 
    learn new skills, develop a portfolio with a reputable organization, and
     work with those from other disciplines on meaningful projects.</div><div><br></div><div><strong>Who is eligible?</strong></div><div>Rising
     Juniors, that is, students who will be Juniors in the Fall of 2019, are 
    preferred, to allow for the possibility that the same student could hold 
    the position through Spring 2021 in order to maintain continuity in the

<Title>Paid Internship with Creative Services</Title>

    					<div><span>The intern would gain experience in an award-winning design studio, contributing to projects that
    help advance UMBC’s mission and vision. This position would primarily focus on improving image
    searches in our archives by tagging photos using programs like Adobe Bridge, Lightroom, and
    Photoshop, and UMBC’s Box account. In addition to consistent work on the archives, the intern
    would be able to grow their own skills in concentrations like photography and design, assisting on
    assignments and projects as needed and as applicable to their skill set. The intern would be given
    guidance on best practices for photography, editing, and design. The position can work up to 10
    </span><span>hours per week (with a  exible weekly schedule), pays $12/hour, and works on location in Creative
    </span><span>Services on a studio provided iMac. An ideal candidate will have photography experience and an
    interest in pursuing photojournalistic assignments and should be well versed in Adobe’s Creative
    Cloud suite of programs. Candidates should be in the Visual Arts program, or be working towards
    a major that focuses on photojournalism, archiving, or museum studies. Selected applicant would
    ideally begin over the summer and work through the fall semester.

    </div><span><div><span><br></span></div><div>***************************************************************************************</div>Dear Seniors:</span><br><span> </span><br><span>At this link you will find important information, deadlines, and the Google form to enter your artwork into <strong>Senior Exhibition 2019 at the CADVC, May 21 - June 8, 2019</strong>. Please read this form carefully and keep a copy and link for your records. You must be signed in to MyUMBC to access the form.</span><br><strong><br><span>Link: </span><a href="https://goo.gl/forms/ijwuT6iLsUOv3wa72" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">https://goo.gl/forms/ijwuT6iLsUOv3wa72</a></strong><br><br><span>Please submit ONE FORM for EACH ARTWORK you propose to exhibit. Limit to two works of art per student, per area of concentration. Note, artworks involving a SERIES, but that are still one work of art may be entered within one form and will therefore appear on one label in the exhibit. Minors may not enter artwork into the show, except for Print Media minors.</span><div><span><br></span></div><div><p><span>On the form there is space near the bottom where you may include details, such as any special installation instructions. It is also important to include any visitor use instructions (for interactive artwork), explanatory didactics, artist statements, or narrative wall text. You must enter all text on the form, if you want to exhibit that text on the wall or otherwise in the gallery.
