You do not have to be a visual arts major to apply to this position. This position requires working in the production room of commonvision. No printing experience is required; we will train the right person.

Applicants Must:

Be highly dedicated & organized
Have at least 2 semesters left at UMBC
Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
Pass a judicial check
Be able to work at least 10 hours a week
Be an undergraduate student

Students will be responsible for:

Receiving, reviewing and processing print orders
Prioritizing tasks for efficiency and tight deadlines
Modifying existing digital projects using InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop
Running print jobs on wide format and large volume printers
Take the lead installing projects around campus
Using other finishing services as required by the project

Lamination and foam board mounting

• ART 329: Roman Visual Culture (3 credits) This course explores the painting, sculpture, decorative arts, and architecture created during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries in Rome. Through firsthand experience, the class examines art and architecture within the context in which it was originally created. In addition to visiting historical sites, students experience other aspects of Italian visual culture such as authentic cuisine and music from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

• ART 369 or ART 392: Mobile Imaging in Italy (3 credits) This course introduces students to the latest in mobile imaging technologies, techniques and applications, guiding them to create compelling still images and videos of ancient buildings, art and artifacts within the urban landscape of Rome. This class provides a unique opportunity to explore key historical sites, buildings, parks, and plazas while also learning about a variety of online image sharing platforms as a means to display and disseminate the work created. Students are also introduced to the work of relevant contemporary artists.
