Dear undergraduate artists,
We are excited to announce that the Harvard Undergraduate Classics Journal, Persephone, is now accepting submissions for our Spring 2022 issue until March 15! In addition to written pieces, we highly encourage artistic entries to our publication. If you would like to see your work published, please send your submission to us at harvardpersephone@gmail.com.
There are no requirements with regards to artistic medium. Please consider submitting a variety of works including, but not limited to, original poems, artwork, photography, sculpture, and other creative pieces whose subject matter pertains to the ancient Graeco-Roman world.
We will confirm submission upon receipt and select pieces for publication by late April. Our editors work with authors and artists during our standard editing process after decisions have been released. The issue will be published in late May.
Please visit our website if you wish to peruse previous issues for further inspiration, and do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

- Great Kids Farm: Farmapalooza

- Discovering Baltimore’s History Through Broadcast: A Guide to Researching Mid-Atlantic Regional Moving Image Archive’s WJZ Collection
Project Leader: Kristen Anchor, Media and Communication Studies
- Oral Histories of the East Baltimore Documentary Photography Project
Project Leader: Dr. Kate Drabinski, Gender, Women’s, + Sexuality Studies
- Marketing for NonProfits: Friends of Great Kids Farm
Project Leader: Dr. Jennifer Maher, English
The application deadline is Friday, March 11th. Selection results will be sent to each applicant via email on Monday, March 28th. This summer's program is being planned as an in-person format.
The internship commitment is 30 hours per week for 4 weeks during Summer Session One (Monday - Friday, 9:30 am - 4:00 pm from Tuesday, May 31 – Friday, June 24).
Open to all majors, this is an excellent opportunity for students in STEM fields to learn to tell effective stories and for students in social science and humanities fields to gain research and technical skills. Interdisciplinary teams will integrate narrative-based research and professional skills to create effective stories about UMBC’s campus, our larger communities, and our lives. Participants receive a $3000 stipend and a scholarship for a 3-credit internship course. At the conclusion of the project, participants will receive a letter describing their contributions, which they can list on their resumes. Additionally, they have an opportunity to earn a Digital Badge in Interdisciplinary Collaboration.
