It looks like Mitt Romney is the “it boy” again. The former Governor of Massachusetts hit a few rough patches this debate season, most notably when Texas Governor Rick Perry entered the race.

It’s also worth noting that Public Policy Polling puts Herman Cain in the lead, and Rasmussen puts Cain and Romney in a dead heat for victory in the primary. Questions linger about Cain’s realistic chances as the GOP nominee in 2012.

The below video from TPM presents an interesting theory about Romney’s overall strategy. Thoughts?

While we’re on the topic of Cain and Romney, my personal favorite part of this season has been the hushed concerns about Mr. Romney’s religion of choice. Look for a followup post about “The Mormon Question.”
