Watching the Kilauea volcano eruptions is like something out of a Hollywood movie set (only better).
On Kilauea in Volcano, Hawaii eruptions have been occurring since January 1983, but this past Saturday a new vent opened spewing the lava and creating dangerous fissure eruptions along the east rift zone.
We at USDemoCrazy don’t understand much about volcanoes, but the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory describes the eruption events well.
A crater collapsed and was reduced to debris and rubble. The top off of a mountain was not blown off like we often envision it, but instead lava was seeping and spewing out of a crack that extends to the side of Kilauea.
No people have been hurt so far, but curious visitors beware!
Blowing off steam never looked so good or so dangerous!
