The pressures of covering the Olympics are probably too immense for us mere mortals to imagine. So no one would fault the NBC broadcast army currently in Sochi, Russia for wanting to indulge in the caffeinated drinks of their choice, right?
Too bad Starbucks is banned from the games. As a non-sponsor, the coffee was denied a place at Olympic locales. So NBC has had to be a little creative in getting their employees their ideal coffee brand…
As in, creating a hidden enclave in their Sochi facility, then sneaking several 15-man crack teams of baristas to staff the coffee cave .
Fortunately, neither McDonalds nor Coca-Cola, the Winter Games’ official sponsors,
seem to mind the little indiscretion. (That would have been a snow ball fight to see)
Probably just as well…after all, if the NBC team is going to continue covering feats such as this one, it will need to be at its latte-filled best.
