College can be a tough time on the wallet. Between tuition, housing, and textbooks its amazing that students can afford to eat.
Lucky for us Matthew Boyle has found a solution for students, food stamps.
But wait! Aren’t food stamps for the impoverished? We know college students may not be wealthy… but are they starving?
Evidently according to Mr. Boyle,
“As a master’s student at American University and a part-time reporter for The Daily Caller, I don’t meet the traditional definition of a poor person, and in fact I’m not poor.”
Despite being relatively well off he met the official requirements for food stamps and was approved. To celebrate he had a reasonable dinner of $19 a pound swordfish, paid for with food stamps of course.
Mr. Boyle’s success got us thinking. Is he unveiling the flaws in America’s welfare system or is he scamming a program designed to take care of the most vulnerable?
