Don’t go to Guam this spring – it might rain toxic mice.
The US Department of Agriculture announced they will drop hundreds of dead mice stuffed with acetaminophen (found in Tylenol) on the island in April or May.
Why? The thirty-mile island is actually infested with two million brown snakes that have caused twelve native bird species to go extinct in the past 30 years.
Since the toxin doesn’t harm humans, the plan seems fool-proof: the mice drop, the snakes eat, and then the snakes also drop. However, PETA is not too happy with the plan, as the snakes will die slowly of renal and liver failure. But has anyone thought about the poor dead mice?
