Ron Paul’s loyal followers have made a petition to add his name to the Constitution.
The iconic document has not been signed since 1787, and Paul, though thoroughly aged, was surely not around then. We’re not too sure how happy the founding fathers would be to hear of this.
After his final departure from the House of Representatives, a petition was drafted to include his name among the thirty-nine other signatures.
The reasoning? The petition states the following:
He, more than any other public servant since it’s inception- has championed it, strived to uphold it, and reprimanded those who have not.
Quite a claim, right?
As of this morning, 23 petitioners have signed, leaving room for 24,977 names to be added by this December 14th. Petitions require 25,000 signatures to be sent to the President.
The petition concludes with this statement:
Ron Paul deserves to have his namesake preserved along with those of our Founding Father’s… And The Constitution deserves to bear Ron Paul’s name.
Now, there is a long list of respectable politicians who have done great things for the country — Ron Paul is not likely to be at the top of many people’s list.
What makes Ron Paul so special that he should be the first to be added to the Constitution?
We are not sure we have a good answer to that question.
Who would you choose to sign the Constitution ahead of Ron Paul?
