MoveOn.org has a petition up calling on Macy’s to fire celebrity spokesperson Donald Trump. The petition claims that Trump has long engaged in “especially unpleasant, nasty and despicable behavior,” including but not limited to:

• A storied history of sexist comments and personal attacks levied against women he disagrees with, calling them “unattractive,” ugly or fat. (He once sent a woman note telling her that she has the “face of a dog.”) Trump, while referring to HIS OWN DAUGHTER said: “She does have a very nice figure…if [she] weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.” (The last bit, regardless of what you think of the man, is incontestably scummy.)
• Using his celebrity to deny climate change. In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Trump tweeted: “The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.” This certainly wasn’t the worst of his Sandy tweets, but it’s up there. 
• Perpetuating the racially charged birther conspiracy, repeatedly arguing that President Obama has been lying and was not born in the United States.
• And, perhaps most damning, Trump, number one critic of U.S. China relations, produces his clothing line in China.  (On a personal note, his clothing line is preeeeety bad–it fits poorly, feels cheap, and is about as gaudy as one might expect from a man who dresses like the 1980s never ended).
