The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Redox Biology Center is offering Undergraduates a 10-week summer program sponsored by the NSF.
***Students will receive a stipend of $5,500 in addition to housing, a full meals program, on campus parking, and access to University Health Care and Recreation Centers. A travel allowance is also available for those who are not able to drive to campus.
Students will:
- Focus on projects in redox biology
- Formulate and test hypotheses
- Develop experimental problem-solving skills
- Receive training in biochemical, biophysical and molecular biology techniques
- Learn to use HPLC and FPLC systems, EPR spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy, and microscopy
- Attend meetings to exchange their research information and discuss areas of biochemistry/redox biology of interest
- Attend weekly meetings with various scientists who describe the latest advances in their own research and career opportunities
- Attend social, recreational and cultural events with program participants and faculty
- Present their project at a session and receive certificates of completion
Program Date: June 6th, 2016- August 10th, 2016
