The Association between Intimate Partner Violence and Conflict Disengagement in Newlywed Couples
Researcher Rupsha Singh examined the association between attachment, conflict avoidance, conflict intensity and intimate partner violence (IPV) in a sample of 114 heterosexual newlywed couples using actor-partner interdependence modeling.
This study looked at emotional dysregulation and avoidance that may lead to IPV. It also looks at insecure adult attachment styles as well as both avoidant and anxious attachment being associated with IPV.
