<Title>Recruiting Students for Paid Research Study</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div><strong><u>Who?:</u> </strong>You must be between the ages of 18 - 25 in order to participate. If you are interested, you will be asked to fill out a brief web-based study screener in order to assess eligibility.</div><div><br></div><div><strong><u>What?:</u> </strong>The purpose of this study is to experimentally test the influence of psychological interventions on pain responses. This research will help scientists and medical providers learn more about the influence of specific components of psychological interventions on pain responses, and may aid in the development and refinement of pain management techniques for people with chronic pain conditions.</div><div><br></div><div><u>As a participant in this study, you will be asked to complete</u>:</div><div><ul><li>A set of questionnaires</li><li>Different types of pain sensation tests involving cold water exposure to your hand and the application of pressure to your forearm </li><li>A brief psychological intervention consisting of a writing exercise and visualization exercise </li></ul></div><div><strong><u>Where?</u>: </strong>All study activities will be located in Sondheim 511 (Pediatric Psychology Lab).</div><div><span><br></span></div><div><strong><u>How Long?:</u> </strong>Just an hour of your time.</div><div><br></div><h5><strong>For participating in this study, you will receive $15 in compensation AND you will be entered into a raffle to win one of three $100 Amazon gift cards. </strong></h5><h6><span>You will also be able to earn 1 extra credit through Sona in a selected psychology course (if eligible).</span></h6><div><br></div><h5><strong>If you are interested in participating or have any questions, please email us at <a href="mailto:umbcpedspsyc@gmail.com">umbcpedspsyc@gmail.com</a> and we will get back to you!</strong></h5><div><br></div><div>This study has been approved by the UMBC Institutional Review Board (IRB Protocol Y19LD20062 approved for use 03/07/2019 - 11/20/2019).</div></div>

<Title>Recruiting children ages 9-12 for the Pediatric Psych Lab</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><em>Do you have a child, sibling, nephew/niece, etc. between the ages of <strong>9 and 12?</strong></em><br><br><u><strong>Who?:</strong></u><br><span>We are looking for healthy </span><strong>9 to 12 year old</strong><span> children to help us test out games and activities </span><strong>before we try them in hospitals to help sick children</strong><span>.<br><br>Children CAN participate if they completed the study last summer, as long as they are within the age range.<br></span><br><u><strong>What?:</strong></u><br><span>Our activities include a heat test while playing different types of </span><strong>memory games</strong><span>.
     We want to know if our games are fun, what types of games work the 
    best, and how these activities change the way children experience 
    different sensations.</span><br><br><u><strong>Where?:</strong></u><br><span>The study takes place at the Pediatric Psychology Lab right here at UMBC.</span><br><u><strong><br>How long?:</strong></u><br><span>Participation in the study takes a little over an hour. We are currently only able to schedule appointments between 9 and 5 on Mondays and Wednesdays.</span><br><br><span>After participating, the child will </span><strong>get $10</strong><span> and a small </span><strong>toy</strong><span> as a thank you!<br><br>For children who are not in the UMBC summer camp, we can reimburse parents up to $20 to help cover transportation and parking costs.<br></span><br><span>If you are interested or have any questions, please email </span><a href="mailto:umbcpedspsyc@gmail.com" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">umbcpedspsyc@gmail.com</a></div>

<Title>Recruiting children ages 6-13 for the Pediatric Psych Lab</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div><em>Do you have a child, sibling, nephew/niece, etc. between the ages of<strong> 6 and 13</strong>?</em></div><div><br></div><div><strong><u>Who?:</u></strong></div><div>We are looking for healthy <strong>6 to 13 year old children</strong> to help us test our games and activities before we try them in hospitals.<br></div><div><br></div><div><strong><u>What?: </u></strong></div><div>Our activities include a cold water test and a pressure test, while playing different types of video games or other activities. <span>We want to know if our games are fun, what types of games work the best, and how these activities change the way children experience different sensations.</span></div><div><br></div><div><strong><u>Where?:</u></strong></div><div>The study takes place at the Pediatric Psychology Lab right here at UMBC.</div><div><br></div><div><strong><u>How long?:</u></strong></div><div>Participation in each of our studies takes about an hour.</div><div><br></div><div>After participating, the child will get $10 per study, a small toy as a thank you, and can enter in a chance to win an iPad mini! <br></div><div><br></div><div>If you are interested or have any questions, please call 410-455-3113 or 443-840-7447, or email <a href="null" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">umbcpedspsyc@gmail.com</a></div></div>
