What: Teams of engineering students will compete in UMBC’s first-ever “sub-off” this week at the Retriever Activities Center pool. The project will give students in Introductory Engineering Science hands-on experience designing, building and maneuvering miniature submarines.
The time-trial event requires teams to maneuver up, down and side-to-side to complete the course and hit a target at the end. Teams will win extra points for the amount of weight their vessels carry.
