UMCP APDA Tournament Invitation

UMCP 2010: Campaign Season – October 15-16
LOGISTICS:
5 rounds of loose link debate; breaks to Quarterfinals and novice Semifinals.
HOSPITALITY:
Our Hospitality Director will be Osama Eshera. We’ll be serving dinner Friday, and the usual breakfast and lunch Saturday.
Maryland: Because you can’t trust the 2nd least obese state in the nation to feed you.
HOUSING:
Eric Hall will be our Housing Director.
Maryland: Because we won’t make you use Will Crocker as a mattress.
JUDGES:
Monica Saavedra is our Judging Director. If you’re a dino interested in judging at our tournament, please e-mail megamonocle[at]gmail[dot]com.
Maryland: Because we actually elect dinos to public office ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3k6PM9AEos ).
ENTERTAINMENT:
Marisol Vales will be in charge of the festivities.
Maryland: Because state schools have to be good for something.
TAB:
Our Tab director will be Oliver Lum. Once again we’re having an open tab policy for all participants outside of tab. We’ll be posting more info on our specific tab policy is a few days.
Maryland: Because every minute we’re late increases the chance we’ll get mugged.
EQUITY:
Our equity officer will be Josh Gross.
Maryland: Because we have a more diverse palette.
REGISTRATION:
Please send your registration to marylanddebate@gmail.com by Tuesday, October 12th at 11:59pm, including the following information:
a) Names of debaters and pairings
b) Novice and seeding info
c) Names of judges you are bringing, as well as years of experience
d) Name and sex of anyone who needs housing
e) Dietary restrictions of any participants (vegetarian, vegan, etc.)
f) Form of payment
REG fees are $115 per team by check and $100 per team if paying by cash. If you need to make special arrangements for payment, please e-mail us at marylanddebate@gmail.com (subject line: Reg Fees).
REG will close at 4:00pm. Traffic around College Park is BAD around this time, so aim to get here at 3 p.m. Seriously guys, we have no qualms with dropping you if you’re not here in time.
We are MPDS, and we approved this message.
