Calling all artists/graphic designers! We are in the process of building the car for the 2021-2022 season and one of the most important visual components on the car is our livery. It represents the school during competition and also pays tribute to our sponsors that help make our participation at competition a reality. This year, we would like to do something different and open the livery design to anyone at UMBC who would like to participate. The rules for the competition are as follows:
1. The livery template for the competition is attached to this post. To get the template, click "Download Document" at the bottom of this post. The livery must fit within the panels provided, and be saved as a .SVG image to preserve the quality of the livery when rescaling to fit the panels on the car.
3. 1/3 of the main panels (the left and right side seen in the below image) must be left blank or have a solid-colored space for placement of sponsor logos.
2. The livery must represent UMBC with some connection to the style guide. The style guide can be found at https://styleguide.umbc.edu/. This could include using UMBC-sanctioned colors, but does NOT include UMBC trademarked logos like the retriever or UMBC wordmarks. Examples of cars from previous years can be found at our website, sae.umbc.edu.
4. The winner will be chosen by the team and get their livery placed on the car for the 2021-2022 season to be displayed at races, conferences, and other events.
