First order of business, Involvement Fest! As usual, JSA will be participating in UMBC's virtual Involvement Fest, and we'll be holding our first official meeting, and officer introduction Friday, February 11th from 1:30 to 2:30 pm via Webex. This week we will not be having a GBM, but instead we will hold JSA Elections for next year’s eboard. The Elections will be held virtually, and will be up for members to vote starting today Tue 11/23 to midnight Tue 11/30. The election form will require a umbc account sign in to prevent fraudulent/duplicate votes. Please take some time to fill out the election form, we highly appreciate your participation and being part of the JSA family for all this time, as well as continuing JSA’s tradition towards a brighter future! Happy Halloween Everyone!

I hope everyone's having a spooky and spine-chilling time today! In this week's meeting, we will talk about Japanese Arcades! Come join us as we dive into its history and look at the many iterations and variations of all kinds of popular Japanese arcade machines. This week's meeting will be tomorrow, MONDAY Nov 1st (not a Wednesday this week), in SHER 015 at 4:00pm-5:00pm.

This week we will be holding a GBM on Teru Teru Bozu! Come drop by to learn the history of these curious ghost dolls from Japan, as well as make one for yourself during the meeting (supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own markers if you'd like)! We will be in SHER 006, 2:30pm-3:30pm on Wednesday Oct 27th.

In addition, we will also be celebrating Halloween early this week on Wednesday Oct 27th by dressing up in our halloween costumes all day! This is a joint collaboration with UMBC Artists club, Cosplay Coalition, Anime Society, and COM (Comics and Other Medias) club. Come join us in spreading the Halloween Spirit around campus! Costumes are encouraged, but not required. (more details about the event listed in the previous post/announcement)

Good Spooky Evening Everyone! 

In celebration of this year's Halloween Season, we are inviting you all to come join us and dress up in your Halloween costumes on campus, Wednesday October 27th all-day! This event is a collaboration between Japanese Student Association (JSA), UMBC Artists Club, Cosplay Coalition, UMBC Anime Society, and COM (Comics and Other Media), but everyone in and outside of the clubs are more than welcome to participate! We are not having a specific gathering place or meetup time, but instead this was planned as a general dress-up, hang out, and having fun occasion! The cut-off time might be around 6pm or so, but you are more than welcome to stay dressed up for the night if you would like. Feel free to spread the word around, the more people we get involved the spookier UMBC will be! 

In addition, we also will have some club events during the week of Halloween for everyone to join in! 

- COM: Halloween Fun Event! Drop by Math&Psych 012 (basement) on Wed 27th, 12:00pm-1:00pm. There will be pizza, candy, jackbox, and an opportunity to vote for the top 5 Halloween specials/Halloween-related content in media. Costumes are encouraged but not required. But that's not all, there will be a Horror Game Night on Sat Oct 30th at 6:00pm in the Student Orgs Lounge in the Commons!
