Pope Francis is totally awesome.
Last year he gave the go-ahead to an initiative called "24 Hours for the Lord," which encouraged each diocese to offer round-the-clock confessions for one day. I never knew it happened, but apparently it was enough of a hit for him to call for it again...
So mark your calendars! March 13th-14th (i.e. this Friday and Saturday) will be this year's 24 Hours for the Lord, and Pope Francis encourages us all in a special way to take advantage of this amazing sacrament. Of course, confession is always available, and always an awesome thing, but what better way to start off Spring Break and gear up for the second half of Lent??
Here are a few options from nearby parishes, but I'm sure there are lots more I didn't think of --
Our Lady of Victory:
Friday 6:00 - 7pm
Saturday 3 - 3:45pm
St. William of York:
Saturday: 3 - 3:45 pm
Sunday: 9:30 - 9:45 am
St. Agnes:
Saturday: 3:30 - 4:30 pm
Sunday: 7 - 7:20 am
Our Lady of Perpetual Help:
Friday 4:30 - 6pm
Saturday 3 - 4:15pm
If anyone wants to go but doesn't have transportation, let me know (jones22@umbc.edu) - I'd be willing to drive to OLV or OLPH after our Stations of the Cross on Friday.
Go Pope Francis!
