PhD student position for research project on evaluating scientific claims The UMBC AI and Theory-Oriented Molecular Science Lab (ATOMS) led by Professor Tyler Josephson in the Department of Chemical, Biochemical and Environmental Engineering. has two fully-funded positions for PhD students to start in Spring 2025 or sooner.

The ATOMS Lab brings together chemical engineers, computer scientists, and mathematicians to equip computers to reason about and discover theories in molecular science.

One position will will support an interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and linguists, to build an AI system for evaluating scientific claims using logic, LLMs, and the Lean 4 programming language.
