<Title>Graduate Leadership Opportunity &amp; Survey</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><p><span>Dear TTL Students, </span></p><p><span>Please consider nominating yourself for the Graduate Student Association Senate for the 2025-2026 academic year. There are currently few participating students from the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Your voice as a senator can truly shape the course of graduate education on campus. </span><span>The role of Senator gives you an opportunity to represent your peers, participate in shared governance, determine how the Graduate Program Fee money is allocated, and receive a small stipend in return --you only need to allocate an average of 1-2 hours per week during each semester! </span></p><p><span>Please find the self-nomination form here: </span><a href="https://tinyurl.com/47sae6s3" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">https://tinyurl.com/47sae6s3</a></p><p>Second, participation in the campus climate survey among graduate students is currently quite low!     Our approach combines evidence-based practices with engaging activities that make reading fun and meaningful for students. This framework simplifies your role as a teacher, so you can focus on what matters most—helping students thrive. </div><div><br></div><div>This is a great opportunity to do challenging and meaningful work in a supportive environment. Teaching experience is valuable but not necessary, and we do not require teaching certification. We provide comprehensive lesson plans and training so that you will
     be fully prepared before your first class.     <div class="html-content"><h5><strong>Greetings, TTL Students!</strong></h5><p>You've nearly made it to SPRING BREAK! Below are some important announcement and reminders for both graduating and continuing students. As always, reach out do <u><a href="mailto:dicuirci@umbc.edu">dicuirci@umbc.edu</a></u> with your questions and ideas. </p><div><h5><strong>GRADUATING STUDENTS</strong></h5>If you are graduating in May, please be sure you've completed the following steps and adhere to these guidelines set by the Graduate School:<br><br><blockquote><p><span><strong>Certification of Readiness to Defend: </strong></span><span>Due two (2) weeks before the thesis defense. After all committee members have read the thesis, the Chairperson and the Graduate Program Director sign the </span><a href="https://umbc.edu/go/663" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>Certification of Readiness to Defend the Master’s Thesis form</span></a><span>. Bring the completed form to the Graduate School. </span><span>The Graduate School will then send the Procedures for Examination of the Master’s Thesis and the Report of the Examining Committee form to the Dean’s representative of your committee.</span></p><p><span><strong>Examining Committee Report: </strong></span><span>Due within two (2) business days after the oral defense. The Representative for the Dean returns the completed Report of the Examining Committee form to the Graduate School.</span></p><p><span><strong>Approval Sheet &amp; Thesis: </strong></span><span>The signed </span><a href="https://docusign.umbc.edu/secure/prd/FormToDocuSign/Form2DS.php?cfg=GS_ThesisApprovalSheet" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>approval sheet</span></a><span> and electronic thesis must be submitted to </span><a href="https://www.etdadmin.com/main/home?siteId=75" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>UMI/ProQuest</span></a><span> by the dates per semester listed below.
