Hello UMBC Community,
We’re pleased to share two important updates to the University’s travel discount offerings. These enhancements are designed to provide additional savings and flexibility when planning business travel.
1. New Hotel Discount Added – THE HOTEL at Arundel Preserve
We have added a new preferred hotel option for UMBC travelers:
THE HOTEL at Arundel Preserve
- Complimentary shuttle service to BWI Airport and nearby locations (within a 5-mile radius)
- Discounted parking rate of $7 per night with in-and-out privileges
- Two on-site restaurants
- Indoor pool and 24-hour fitness center
- Flexible meeting and event space
Booking Options:
- Reservations may be made directly through the hotel’s booking portal
- The discounted rate is also available when booking through Concur
This hotel is now available on our Travel Discounts page and may be used for University business travel.
2. Discount Program – Amtrak
Student Discount
- Available for travelers ages 17–24
- Offers reduced fares on select routes
- Book directly through Amtrak Student Discounts page. Or, use the Amtrak app and enter code V814 when booking your trip on Amrtrak.com
Group Travel Discounts
- Tiered discounts based on group size (3 or more travelers)
- Savings increase as group size grows
- A great option for departments coordinating group travel
Important Note:
At this time, Amtrak discounts cannot be loaded into Concur. Travelers should book directly with Amtrak and follow standard reimbursement procedures.
Did You Know?
