Equality Maryland is proud to announce a new program that seeks to empower transgender Marylanders to become leaders in our movement.

The Academy is a six-month program that will impart leadership tools, skills and processes to build and sustain a community engaged in social justice for transgender individuals. Participants will be taught organizing, communication and fundraising skills.

The Academy will be held in Baltimore and is free for participants. All participants must self identify as gender non-conforming or transgender (used broadly) and be willing to make a commitment to one weekend a month and to complete one "Homework action" a month for six months. Meals will be provided. Applications are due July 11.
