We are partnering with social work student Olivia Gazaway and the Retriever Music Society in a campus-wide donation drive that will be collecting non-perishable food items for the nearly 700,000 Marylanders affected by the federal freeze of SNAP benefits.
This food drive will be active starting this coming Monday, November 10th, until Thursday, November 20th, with four drop boxes across campus: The AOK Library first floor Writing Center at the entrance to the Academic Success Center, The Apartment Community Center, The Erickson Hall Main Desk, and the Student Disability Services (SDS) second floor hallway in the Math and Psych building by the lockers.
All donations will be collected and dropped off at the Maryland Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW-MD) office in Catonsville. NASW is working with the Maryland Food Bank to distribute food across the state. If you are able, please feel free to donate to any of these drop-box locations on campus to help keep our community strong and support those in need!
