Global Brigades is the world's largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. Since 2004, Global Brigades has mobilized tens of thousands of university students and professionals through skill-based programs that work in partnership with community members to improve the quality of life in under resourced regions while respecting local culture.

Environmental brigades work to ensure food security, preserve environmental and reverse environmental degradation. The main goals of the microfinance brigade is to not only establish a community bank with access to savings and loans but to train the members and executive board to be able to assist in the facilitation of other social projects in the community such as electricity, health initiatives, home repairs etc.
