Environmental Background:
On campus, Maddy has worked with groups such as the Students for Environmental Awareness, the Climate Change Task Force, and the Student Government Association to spread her passion for the protecting the earth. She has helped promote recycling, composting, and environmental awareness by working with leaders of the UMBC administration as well as other students.
Maddy is passionate about teaching people about the importance of their natural environment and what they can do to conserve it for generations to come. Although very interested in Environmental Education, she also is interested in the role of environmental science within public policy as well as the environmental implications of food production and consumption.
Fun Fact: Besides doing environmental work on and around campus Maddy also performs as a professional clown, aerialist, juggler, and stilt walker. She also studied abroad in New Zealand, learning environmental management and working on organic farms.
