Bike-Sharing on Campus?
What are your thoughts about having a bike-sharing program?

So you ask, what is bike-sharing?:
Bike-Sharing is a system in which numbers of bicycles are made available for shared use by individuals who do not own them. These bikes can be used on college campuses for transportation around campus, transportation to and from campus, and recreational/exercise activities.
So you ask, what does this mean for UMBC?
At UMBC this would could result in a few options:
1) Multiple stations would be placed throughout the campus that students could rent bikes from and travel from one location to another.
2) UMBC Community members could rent bikes for a period of time (day, week, month) and return it to their original location.
3) UMBC Community members could rent a bike to get to and from the MARC train station having a bike-locking station on campus and at the train station.
Please comment about your thoughts about having a bike-sharing program on campus (focusing especially about the 3 options listed above) and answer the poll below.
Thanks!!!!
