There will be a week's worth of Earth Day events at UMBC, with the biggest being the Ecofest Earth Day Festival, celebrated on the Quad on April 23rd, and hosted by Students for Environmental Awareness.
Ecofest Earth Day Festival 2014:
Wednes, April 23rd 10-2pm on the Quad
- A Festival with music, games, speakers, performances, food, crafts, giveaways, and your ideas!
- Music: The Stillettos, Steel Drum band, Connor Brendan Band, Taal Cappella, and the Up-Cycled Drum Circle performing at Free Hour, 12 pm.
- Activities and Games: Hooplah will be teaching hulahooping. The Garden will host a hot-pepper eating contest. Shazaam! Women’s Ultimate will lead frisbee games. There will be biome-foursquare, a photobooth, make your own hemp bracelets, yoga tutorials, face painting, recycled and upcycled jewelery, trivia, prizes, and more.

Movie Night: The Lorax and TED talks:

DIY Recycled Crafts and Art Show:
Tues, April 22nd, 11AM-2PM | Commons Main StreetBring your quarter cards. Create or decorate buttons, planters, mason jars, reusable bags and more.
Campus Landscape Tour:
Tues April 22nd, 3PM | Meet at Performing Arts & Humanities BuildingJoin Facilities Management, Professional Staff Senate, and UMBC's Sustainability Coordinator for a tour of green features on campus, from new green buildings to landscape features.
Earth Day 'Ecofest' Festival:
Wednes, April 23, 10AM-2PM | The QuadA Festival with music, games, speakers, performances, food, crafts, giveaways, and many represented organizations.
Tree Planting Service Activity:
Wed April 23rd, 3PM | Walker Avenue GarageJoin Facilities Management, Professional Staff Senate, UMBC's Sustainability Coordinator and Parks and People Foundation for this service activity.
CERA Nature Walk:
Thurs April 24th, 6PM | Meet at Commons LoopJoin SEA for a tour of the large protected forest and trail on campus, CERA, the Conservation and Environmental Research Area.
