UMBC Summer Session Highlights Collegiate Success Institute
The Collegiate Success Institute (CSI) at UMBC is a summer bridge program for new students. During UMBC summer session, students who do the six-week CSI program will earn credits, make new friends and have the opportunity to ease into campus life. The CSI program blends academics, mentoring, self-discovery and social activities to help prepare students for success at UMBC.
Students choose from a selection of summer session courses that meet graduation requirements and earn 4-7 credits. Structured study time and peer mentoring help students learn how to succeed academically and boost self-confidence before fall classes begin. Between classes, CSI students have the opportunity to get to know the area through trips to Baltimore and Washington D.C. and community service projects.
