Boren Scholarships offer up to $20,000 for study abroad!

The Boren Scholarship for Study Abroad funds students for up to $20,000 for six months of study of languages and culture critical to US national security. The Boren Scholarship can be used for most languages taught at UMBC, including Chinese, Russian, Arabic, Korean and Japanese. It can also be used to study advanced-level Spanish in Latin America, advanced-level French in Francophone Africa, and introductory Portuguese in Brazil and Mozambique.
A representative from Boren will be on campus on Tuesday, October 28, from 3:00 to 4:30 pm in Commons 331 for an information session on the program and the application process. Join us to learn how to make your application stronger for this nationally competitive scholarship.
