ASEE is a non-profit organization dedicated to the future of engineering education. Recognizing the importance of global thinking, ASEE has developed an innovative International Programs department that aims to strengthen and expand the interconnectivity of engineering education stakeholders from throughout the world.
ASEE is the Secretariat for the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES), a growing global network that supports and enables international interconnectivity between engineering education stakeholder societies.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The ASEE/IFEES International Programs Internship is an exciting opportunity for students who are interested in international engineering education development. The experience will give the intern a broad global context of ASEE’s relationship with the international education development community. The intern will be heavily involved in all of the department’s projects while working closely with the two individuals on the team and will also act as the liaison between the department and its partners and other ASEE departments. The intern will be able to develop skills in cultural sensitivity, international protocol, and professionalism. The intern must possess an ability to balance and prioritize many tasks simultaneously while maintaining patience and cultural sensitivity.
Responsibilities and opportunities include:
- Building and maintaining connections with key individuals in ASEE’s and IFEES’s burgeoning engineering student global network
- Assisting in management of Department and Program finances
- Minute-taking during conference calls and
meetings.
- Marketing and website development.
- Conducting research and writing grant proposals
to obtain funding for ASEE’s and IFEES’s activities.
- Conducting research to assist in the expansion of
ASEE’s and IFEES’s international strategy.
- Attending presentations and talks on issues at the World Bank Institute, OAS, and other organizations on behalf of ASEE
