Full Title: Education and Career Symposium on Opportunities in Biological Research
Wednesday, May 5th
(YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER BY APRIL 21)
7:30am - 3:30pm
Fort Detrick (Transportation will be provided)
Students interested in careers in medical and biological research and biodefense should not miss this event sponsored by the National Interagency Confederation for
Biological Research (NICBR), a partnership of government agencies with laboratories at Fort Detrick, including:
- US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases
- National Institutes of Health / National Cancer Institute
- National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center
- US Department of Agriculture
- Naval Medical Research Center
- National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The goal of the program is to present an overview of research being performed by the various NICBR partners, through presentations and laboratory tours, and to provide information on educational and employment opportunities.
During the morning, representatives of the various NICBR laboratories will describe their research programs and opportunities for internships, fellowships and employment. After the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to go on tours of various laboratories and explore posters and presentations being made by researchers at the NICBR Springfest. More information on Springfest is available at: http://web.ncifcrf.gov/events/springfest.
Because of security concerns, it will be necessary for Fort Detrick to carry out standard "background checks," so all participants are required to REGISTER BY APRIL 21st at:
