1. The Maryland Out of School Time (MOST) Network is currently recruiting fifteen (15) self motivated candidates who are passionate about youth development and committed to fighting poverty to serve for one year as an AmeriCorps VISTA supporting after school and summer programs.
MOST VISTAs are placed throughout the state to focus on the following areas:
1) Increasing access to STEM learning opportunities
2) Eliminating youth hunger and improving health in children and families
3) Expanding opportunities for youth who have the least access to out of school time programs, including low income and minority youth, youth with disabilities, and older youth.
MOST VISTA members have the opportunity to participate in and co-design extensive training and professional development throughout their service year.

2. Patuxent Research Refuge position begins this summer and would primarily be working on the Urban Refuge Partnership at Masonville Cove in Baltimore and in surrounding communities. Applicants must have a strong interest in working with disadvantaged communities and environmental education, must be a self-starter and be able to work independently. The position is approximately one year with an opportunity to renew. It pays a stipend of about $15k a year and housing is provided if needed at Patuxent. VISTA positions are open to college graduates and after completion allows people to have priority (similar to veterans) when applying for future government positions.
