The Shriver Center's 096 Community Service & Learning spring 2014 registration officially closes by this Friday at 10 am!
A number of our off-campus sites provide transportation, and still need volunteers! This includes:
- Young Explorers Program at Lakeland Elementary (formerly named the UMBC STEM Initiative, or "USI") - Wednesdays in particular (but are open to additional volunteers Mondays, Tuesdays, and/or Thursdays)
- Maryland Food Bank, Wednesdays especially (but also has space on Fridays)
- The Samaritan Women on Saturdays
Please review the Spring Service Chart for more information to engage in service experiences that deepen learning and support community needs. Also attached is the Spring 096 Community Service & Learning Practicum that outlines expectations for this zero credit (pass/fail), transcript notation.
If you are interested in serving at any of these sites, we will work hard to accommodate walk-ins at The Shriver Center (1st floor, Public Policy Building) to meet with Service-Learning Staff on Thursday, 2/27 9-10:30 am; 12-3pm.
