GE's Information Technology Leadership Program is a key entry point for IT professionals at GE and designed to attract high-potential candidates looking to further develop their technical ability and business acumen. Our Information Technology Leadership Program professionals gain hands-on experience in system implementation, technical design and architecture, and operational excellence as they transition from academia to the working world. Program members get access to choose rotations in a variety of disciplines (e.g. system implementations, technical design/architecture, and operational excellence), accelerating their future at GE. And as part of GE, they are supported by the scale and resources of one of the world's greatest companies.
ITLP interns are hired into one of the following businesses based on availability of positions, the interviewer's assessment and the applicant's preference.
Position Description:
ITLP intern assignments, generally 10 -12 weeks, vary widely in terms of the business functions/processes impacted and the type of work required. Possible assignments may include:
*Application development (Web, client server, standalone, mobile) utilizing Agile and Waterfall methodologies
*Systems management and optimization
*Business process re-engineering
*Infrastructure management and environmental design/build out
*Security/controllership
*Customer support
*NOTE that each role will have a hand-on and a project management component
The assignments are designed to expose program participants to a wide range of technologies used across GE and to Lean Six Sigma methodologies used to solve complex business problems. Interns have significant exposure opportunity to key IT and business leaders at GE as well as current full-time ITLPs. Interns also have extracurricular opportunities to engage in various activities both socially and from a professional development perspective.

Basic Qualifications:
*Candidate must be enrolled and be in good academic standing in a minimum of a four-year technical degree in one of the above majors
*GPA greater than or equal to 3.0/4.0
*Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
*Geographic mobility
Desired Characteristics:
Preference will be given to persons with:
*Majors in CIS, Computer Eng, Computer Science, Computer Systems, Information Resource Mgmt, Information Science, Information Systems, Informatics, Information Technology, Management Information Systems (MIS), Systems Eng, Technology related major, Electrical Eng (w/ concentration/minor in any of the above), Business (w/ concentration/minor in any of the above and proven experience working with technology)
*Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in technology
*A strong commitment to a career in technology and passion/aptitude for IT
*Strong analytical and technical skills
*Demonstrated problem solving abilities
*Leadership experience inside and/or outside the classroom
*Relevant coursework in IT-related disciplines
*Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
*General business / finance understanding
