Requirements:
Must be available to assist in the pressroom, Room 336 of the Baltimore Convention Center, from Friday, December 2, to Tuesday afternoon, December 6.
Competency in Word
and PowerPoint
Good oral communication skills
Desired but not necessary: Some knowledge of epilepsy, Good writing skills, Some experience in public relations or the media, Experience in pitching stories to the media
Responsibilities:
Assists in management of the press room, Assists with media briefings, Checks reporters in, Responds to reporters requests, Answers telephone, Prepares Word documents (of which there will be very few), Prepares PowerPoint slides for LCD rolling in-house news feed, Checks Internet for copies of news reports coming out of the meeting, Maintains binder with hard copies of news reports, Maintains a computer listing of news reports, Updates bulletin board announcements as needed, Helps maintain general appearance of press room, Other tasks as assigned
Remuneration:
Internship pays $10 / hr. for this 50 – 60 hour temporary position.
