<Title>Repost:  IMPORTANT Storytelling Roundtable Exploring the power of storytelling!</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div>On <strong>December 2, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:30 pm</strong>, join us in an engaging roundtable session dedicated to exploring the power of storytelling in various fields of study and practice. This event will be a stimulating and supportive environment where participants can share insights and experiences and foster connections. </div><div><br></div><div>The event will feature four graduate students and storytellers: <strong>Chelsea Mays-Williams</strong> (LLC),<strong> Elaine MacDougall</strong> (LLC), <strong>Viridiana Colosio-Martinez</strong> (LLC), and <strong>Holly Turpin</strong> from the Storytelling Academy at Loughborough University. Each storyteller will share their unique perspectives on incorporating storytelling into their work. After all four have presented their insights, we will open the floor for an interactive discussion among attendees to connect with the projects and offer support and feedback.</div><div><br></div><div>We look forward to a vibrant exchange of ideas, stories, and inspiration that will enhance the work of everyone involved. Continuing leadership beyond</span><a href="https://shrivercenter.umbc.edu/shriver-living-learning-center/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span> The Shriver Living Learning Community</span></a><span>, Emmanuella serves as co-leader of Student Ambassadors through The Shriver Center’s Community Engaged Learning (CEL). Emmanuella organizes UMBC CEL Students to host Scholars</span><span> from Commodore John Rodgers Elementary/Middle School who are awarded an engaging experience to UMBC for positive community behavior and scholastic achievement. </span><a href="https://www.thecjrschool.org/collegiates" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>Commodore Collegiates</span></a><span> are Pre-K through 8th Grade students, 2 Scholars per grade who are joined by their family members and teachers. First and foremost, my late stepfather, Wayne Roberts, who was a Red River Métis scientist who passionately defended fish, amphibians, and all manner of creatures in his career in Alberta and ignited my passion for fish science when I was a child. They are a fish philosopher, artist, and activist-scholar from Alberta working towards establishing better ways to honour collective human obligations to fish in the prairies. Longtime <strong>Shriver Living Learning Community</strong> junior <strong>Vunnathi Ankem</strong>, psychology, shares her experience of on-campus dining in "Food for thought:  dining halls celebrate cultural diversity and tackle food insecurity" (page 3). <div><br></div><div>However, the article does not mention <a href="null" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Retriever Essentials</a>, a faculty, staff, and student partnership to tackle food insecurity in our university community. This program prevents foodwaste (and meal swipe waste - since they don't rollover at the end of semester!) and increases accessibility to hot, nutritious food for students.
