Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement Day features research, scholarship, and creative work carried out by UMBC undergraduates. Student work is shared in many ways: oral presentations, poster sessions,artistic exhibits and performances, and film. This campus celebration of achievement affirms UMBC's commitment to the twin goals of research and a distinctive undergraduate experience. This year’s event will be the fourteenth URCAD and will take place on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, in locations throughout the campus. Many students presenting URCAD also receive transcript notations and/or credit for their hard work through the Shriver Center. Whether you are presenting this year, continuing on your project over the Summer or Fall terms and want to receive the transcript notation/credit or would be interested in presenting at a future URCAD, the Shriver Center can help! The event will be held on Wednesday, April 21st from 6-9pm at their studio in Timonium, MD. Join them for a tour that includes free food and plenty of game art creation discussions. In addition, Big Huge Artists will be available for student portfolio reviews and feedback. Portfolio reviews will be first come, first serve. The team includes software developers, business analysts, a product owner representing business stakeholders, and a scrum master. Ascend One uses Agile and Scrum and as part of its software development and project management methodologies. The intern will learn these methodologies supporting an Agile team. The team is focused on delivering highly innovative web and social media applications. The intern will support the Agile team and also have opportunities to work within the PMO. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Working with the team to learn the functionality of the web based systems. • Learning the Agile and scrum processes. • Participate in team planning sessions, design reviews, quality test case development and acceptance criteria development. • Participate with team on issue resolution. • Assist the team with quality testing. • Assist with prioritization and resolution of defects/bugs. • Support sprint/release progress tracking. • Participate in Quality team and PMO team update meetings. • Performs other related duties as required.
