11th Annual BARCStoberfest
Saturday, October 10, 2015 · 11 AM - 3 PM
Off Campus
BARCStoberfest, an annual fundraising event for the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS), is scheduled for Saturday, October 10th, from 11-3:00 at Patterson Park (Pagoda side near Patterson Park Avenue). On-stage costume contests begin at 1:00 and the attached flyer provides additional details.
The event kicks-off at 11:00 with a 5K through the park (registration is still open and available at: http://www.charmcityrun.com/calendar/2015/10/10/ready-set-sniff-5k-run-and-1-mile-walk) and features vendors, food trucks, a dog games area, and children's activities. Share with friends or neighbors who may be interested in attending.
Each semester, The Shriver Center supports @ 40 students engaged in weekly service at BARCS through the 096 Community Service & Learning Practicum. These students walk dogs and socialize cats to increase their adoptability. Student Coordinators Judith Han and Corrin Markey do a phenomenal job organizing one of our largest community partners, across numerous days. Some of these students will be on-hand that day, as well as some freshmen members of the Honors Forum to support the event. In other words, you will see a lot of UMBC shirts in the crowd!
