Not far from UMBC's home campus in Catonsville, on the way to Ellicott City, is the Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum. It was Banneker, a free Black man in the late 18th century, who surveyed what became the United States capital city of Washington, D.C. You can still visit the Historical Park and Museum, his family home. #UMBCCelebratesBHM
