Beginning this year, students will have the
opportunity to formally advise university administration on the annual
process of increasing fees. In conjunction with the VP of Administration
and Finance, SGA is offering four open positions on a board of undergraduate students who will have the opportunity to hear
presentations from administrators when they request fee increases
every year. The board will have an opportunity during these
presentations to ask for clarifications from ‘fee owners’ as to the
specifics of the increases and how they will be used. The application form can be found here.
Applications for open positions on the Student Fee Advisory Board are due next Friday, February 8 at 5:00 p.m. The students selected will have a chance to provide valuable input to administrators and faculty regarding the allocation of funds and increase of fees.
Responsibilities of the position will include availability for a training session; being able to meet twice a week to hear presentations from administrators; conducting outreach to determine the student opinion on proposed fee increases; preparing reports to the VP of Administration and Finance detailing the student position on various fees; and assisting with the organization and execution of SGA's annual Fee Forum.
