IHU/TRS Peer Facilitators
 
Introduction to an Honors University (IHU) seminars and Transfer (TRS) seminars are semester-long courses designed to help new students transition to UMBC, develop academic success skills, and learn about campus resources. 
 
Students serving as Peer Facilitators for these courses will co-teach with a staff instructor on a weekly basis during the fall and/or spring semesters, essentially serving as a TA for these courses.
 
Welcome Week Leaders (Woolies)
 
Welcome Week is a week and a half long series of social and educational events designed to help new students get connected and learn about opportunities to get involved both in and out of the classroom.

Welcome Week Leaders (also known as Woolies) will work with groups of 25-35 new students to engage in Welcome Week events while also helping to coordinate the logistics of hosting Welcome Week.

A new staff position within We Believe You has been created and student input is needed to help decide key components of the position. This survey gives students a way to voice their opinions on the new staff position being created to give care and support to survivors of power-based, interpersonal, and/or sexual violence.  

We Believe You wants this position to help members of the UMBC community regardless of whether or not their experience(s) occurred at UMBC or while attending UMBC, and regardless of whether they wish to pursue a Title IX investigation.  
This position came out of the recommendations made in all three Retriever Courage reports written last spring. 

We Believe You is fiercely committed to ensuring this position is created and with input from as many students as possible, both undergraduate and graduate.

Apply to Run for 2020 SGA Elections

Candidate Applications will close TOMORROW Friday March 6th, 2020 at 11:59pm. The candidate application can be found here. 

Students can run for the following positions:
  • President*
  • Executive Vice President*
  • Vice President for Student Organizations (VPSO)
  • Treasurer
  • Senator
  • Finance Board Representative
*President and Executive Vice President apply as a ticket, but both parties must complete an application.

Kaplan Scholarship Fund was established in 1977 by the University of Maryland Baltimore County Student Government Association in recognition of Dr. Kaplan’s many contributions to UMBC.
Under Dr. Kaplan's wishes, the scholarship fund will be awarding students who display academic promise.

Applications for the scholarship should be submitted to the Vice President for Student Affairs office by 4PM on April 22, 2020.
