The Treasurer Support Team (TST) is a group of students who are dedicated in supporting and providing resources to student organizations as they navigate the Finance Board at UMBC. This team works with the Treasurer to implement effective communication and support for student organizations. The team is also a part of the Student Government Association and works in conjunction with other SGA branches to support student organizations and strive to make the UMBC better through their work and efforts.
There are two positions available for the Treasurer Support Team.
Stipend that are paid $656.50 annually in four prorated installments.
The Student Organization Support Team (SOST) is a group of students who are dedicated in supporting and providing resources to student organizations at UMBC. This team works with the Vice President for Student Organizations to implement effective communication, programming and support for student organizations. The team is also a part of the Student Government Association and works in conjunction with other SGA branches to support student organizations and strive to make the UMBC community better through their work and efforts.
The following positions are available to apply for on the SOST
- Student Organization Committee Representative: $631.25 annually in four prorated installments.
- Coordinator of Programming: $631.25 annually in four prorated installments.
- Assistant Director of Coalition and Cultural Organizing: $757.50 annually in four prorated installments.

Student Leader of the Week! Kai serves as the Assistant Summer Speaker of the Senate and is currently serving his third term as a Senator. He is also currently serving as an Orientation Peer Advisor (OPA) and really enjoys the conversations and connections he gets to have with new students! Kai is passionate about accessibility on campus and has worked to advocate for students in his role as a Senator. He has served on multiple shared governance committees including the Landscape and Stewardship Committee and works to make sure that student voices are heard. He also loves to tell corny jokes.

Retriever Poets are dedicated to providing a space for writers of UMBC to compose and share original poetry. Our organization has collaborated with multiple orgs such as The Women’s Center, We Believe You, and OCA Mocha in the past. We host monthly poetry open mic nights for students to share their original work. Virtual Leadershops: Leading with Emotions
Third virtual leadershop of the series has been released!
Are your emotions impacting your leadership? Can emotions and leadership even go together? Join leadership peer facilitator, Kiyah Carter, in her Leading with Emotions virtual workshop. This workshop focuses on students involved in leadership roles or organizations on campus. Viewers will be able to identify the importance of
self-awareness and managing emotions.
Meet the presenter:
Kiyah Carter, she/ her/hers, is a Senior Psychology major here at UMBC. Kiyah’s favorite color is purple and she loves Spicy Sweet Doritos. Kiyah believes that leadership is defined as helping and guiding individuals with intention to achieve a goal. Her goals as a Leadership Peer Facilitator (LPF) are to empower students and improve her facilitation and public speaking skills. Outside of being a LPF, Kiyah is involved in UMBC’s Gospel Choir. Welcome Week: a week and a half long series of social and educational events designed to help new students meet other students and learn about opportunities in and out of the classroom
Welcome Week Leaders (Woolies) will develop relationships and encourage a group of 25-35 new students to engage with Welcome Week events while also helping with the logistics of Welcome Week
*Welcome Week 2020 is August 22-September 2, with the main Woolie responsibilities occurring August 22-26*
