It is a worldwide nonprofit service organization that provides aid and relief to children and families who need it most. They are one of the first organizations to serve people in need when a disaster/crisis strikes. As a club, we advocate for children's rights and needs, as well as raise funds to help UNICEF send food, water, clothing, vaccines, school supplies, and other life essentials to communities in need.

Leadership Blueprint is a program that helps first year, sophomore, and new transfer students learn how to craft a more fulfilling college experience by sharing practical design thinking tools and ideas, while relating them back to their leadership and involvement plans for UMBC. However, all students are welcome to apply!

Topics include exploring your interests, finding your place at UMBC, designing plans for your leadership and involvement experience, and much more. This seminar incorporates small group discussion, activities, guest speakers, and personal reflection. 

There are two different cohort times to choose from starting the week of January 25th, 2021 and ending the week of February 22nd, 2021:

  • Retriever Cohort
    • Tuesdays 4:00pm - 5:30pm 
    • Jan 26th, Feb 2nd, Feb 9th, Feb 16th, Feb 23rd

  • True Grit Cohort
    • Wednesdays 11:00am - 12:30pm 
    • Jan 27th, Feb 3rd, Feb 10th, Feb 17th, Feb 24th

To participate, you must be available to attend all five sessions within your section of Leadership Blueprint. The deadline to register is Wednesday, January 20th by 11:59pm.

Tensions are high even as people crave the feeling of connection. Members of our UMBC community may feel isolated, uncertain, or uncomfortable sharing their honest views. These feelings will likely last beyond Election Day 2020, especially if the outcomes are in dispute.

Together Beyond November: (Re)building Community after Election 2020 will allow inclusive conversations that can help people in your groups renew their connections and help each other through this challenging time. The Center for Democracy and Civic Life, Initiatives for Identity, Inclusion, and Belonging (I3B), Counseling Center, and leading campus educators in the use of restorative practices have organized this program as a part of the Cast Your Whole Vote campaign. Campus Life and your Student Government Association will be hosting two sessions that you can participate in on:
