Take the Fee Review Survey!
Quick survey about student fees! PLEASE PAW FOR VISIBILITY!
In addition to tuition, every student at UMBC pays fees that support student life on campus. These fees are broken down into six categories: Athletics, Technology, The Commons, Transportation, Auxiliary Facilities, and Student Activities. Currently, these fees add up to a total of $2679 per year.
Every year, the UMBC administration embarks on a process to review each of these fees and assess whether to increase them or to hold them steady. These are fees that directly impact student life and as such, student input is a valuable component of the fee review process. In an effort to expand student involvement in this process, the administration has, in partnership with UMBC SGA, established a formal process by which students can voice their opinions on proposed fee increases.
Below is a link to the Mandatory Fee Review Survey. It is an online form that explains the details of proposed fee increases and collects your input on how you feel about each fee and its related expenditures. Completing the survey will ensure that the administration hears your voice on the fees you pay.

Besides just filling out a form from behind a computer screen, you can get involved to help direct fee expenditures by attending the annual Fee Forum. The Fee Forum is an opportunity for students to interact first-hand with the administrators who request annual fee increases. This year, there are two dates for the Fee Forum: Wednesday, March 27 and Friday, March 29. Both events will be held in the Student Organizations Space on the second floor of the Commons between 12 and 1 p.m.
Filling out the Mandatory Fee Review Survey helps quantify student opinion, but attending the fee forum and advocating for your cause will make a much stronger impact on the fee review process.
