Hello everybody! I hope your semester is going great! UMBC Students For Life is announcing our participation in National Pro-Life Chalk Day happening on Tuesday, October 17th at 4pm!

The location will be on the sidewalk that is on Johnny Cake and Route 40, surrounding Hillcrest Abortion Facility. 

We will be coming together with members of the community to write encouraging chalk messages for the women and workers that enter into the abortion facility. We will also be coming together for a time of prayer.

Why do you think you are a good fit for this position?

I believe I am a good fit because I am interested in spreading the pro-life awareness and helping pregnant and parenting students. I have already held a position as Secretary and have been dedicated to planning and events involved in this group. I additionally love to have things take place in an organized way; and as a team worker, I believe that group collaborations can make this group stand out. 

What plans do you have for this club?

Some ideas that I believe would be good is to have the link to the SFL database incorporated into the Syllabi of school courses or maybe on the Women's Center page. I also would love to have the diaper drive to be incorporated again in the events of SFL. 

What other extra-curricular activities are you involved with?

I am not involved in any other groups, but I do work outside of campus on the weekends.

Candidate: Hope Timoll

Why do you think you are a good fit for this position?

I work well with diverse groups of people working towards a common cause. I am a strong leader who ensures that everyone's voice is heard and the overall vision is understood. As VP, I would support the other members, build a meaningful relationship with the other SFL officers, be dependable, open-minded, patient, and lead when deemed necessary.

What plans do you have for this club?

I think SFL could do a lot of joint activities with College Republicans and TurningPoint USA possibly, depending on UMBC's COVID-19 restrictions, in addition to bringing pro-life speakers to campus like Kristan Hawkins (SFL President) or Lila Rose (Live Action President), dependent on the budget of SFL. These speakers could present virtually or in person. I also think that SFL could partner up with returning students to help assist them in their academic endeavors if they have young children.

What other extra-curricular activities are you involved with?

I am currently Secretary of the Media and Communication Studies Council of Majors on campus.
