UMBC: Changing the world with a giving heart National Philanthropy Day is a celebration of philanthropy—giving, volunteering and charitable engagement—that highlights the accomplishments, large and small, that philanthropy makes to our society and our world. UMBC students understand the importance of charitable engagement and giving back. Making a difference in the lives of others is what makes the world go around. UMBC is proud to highlight four initiatives lending a helping hand.
