For those of you who haven't yet heard, Frank Warren, of internationally-acclaimed PostSecret (http://www.postsecret.com) will be giving a presentation at UMBC on September 30th! This FREE EVENT will take place in the UC Ballroom at 8PM.
PostSecret is an open project where people from all over the world send in secrets on postcards to Frank Warren, a man from Germantown, and he puts them on his website. Since the project started, PostSecret has had several gallery exhibitions (there is currently an exhibit on display at the American Visionary Arts Museum in Baltimore), had blown-up secrets featured in the All-American Rejects music video for "Dirty Little Secret," and there have also been a couple of successful books released.
Basically, this is a big deal, and the fact that it is FREE is an even bigger deal!
In anticipation of his arrival, SEB is organizing a gallery of student secrets. All you have to do is get a 4x6 postcard, and write/draw/collage/create your secret on it. When you're done, drop it into the drop-box in our office (The Commons, Room 2B10 - near the Gameroom) by SEPTEMBER 12TH. The gallery will go up by September 15th.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS, because you DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS EVENT!
P.S. Look for SEB hanging out around free-hours in the next week with blank postcards and art supplies for you to make your secret postcard on the spot!
