We started our project by getting comfortable with some of the different software we will be using, like SolidWorks, and researching some of the concepts and documentation we will be incorporating like those of resonant frequencies. We proceeded to use that information to calculate the resonant frequencies of our sample objects by the impulse excitation technique which consisted of striking the objects and recording the resulting sounds of the vibration using the Audacity program. We have also begun testing the limitations of our accelerometer by running various tests on it, including recording its output when placed in a elevator, which could have similar vibrations to those experienced in a museum.
