Good morning everyone!
There will be a Meet and Greet event today organized by the Latinx and Hispanic Faculty Association (LHFA)! It will be held from 12:00pm - 1:30pm at Flat Tuesdays in the Commons. This would be a great opportunity to learn and connect with different organizations and faculty members from our community. There will also be food and music at the event!

First GBM of the Semester - Sept. 18 (ILSB 201)
Hi everyone!
We hope the first few weeks of the new semester have been going well for you all!
We are thrilled and encourage you all to attend our first general body meeting (GBM) of the semester, which will be held on September 18th from 12-1pm in ILSB 201.

Best Under-The-Radar Leadership Position Application
Apply for the 2024-2025 UMBC Student Hearing Board!
Hey Everyone,
I wanted to share a really really great Leadership Opportunity on campus.
For the past 2-3 years I have served as a Student Justice for UMBC's Conduct and Committee Hearing Board. The position of Student Hearing Board Justice is a volunteer, under-the-radar leadership position on campus. Student Hearing Board Justices are held in high esteem because of the critical functions they perform in our student-centered campus conduct process. Student Hearing Board Justices are essential gatekeepers in upholding high behavioral standards and keeping campus safe.
The Student Hearing Board hears contested charges initiated against a student or student organization for an alleged violation of the Code of Student Conduct and the Code of Student Organization Conduct, respectively.
The application is pretty brief and can be found at the link below--the deadline is April 19th 11:59 pm (sorry for the late notice). Serving on the Student Hearing Board is an excellent opportunity to educate fellow students and make a difference at UMBC.
I really recommend this opportunity as I have been asked about this during my Medical/Grad School Interviews!
Professional Schools love to see students who use ethics, critical thinking, and uphold integrity and community standards within academia. I definitely recommend you all apply!
