We are having focus groups on sex, consent and hooking up.
The Division of
Students Affairs is working to create a program regarding the issue of sexual consent and we are looking for student
input. We would like to conduct focus groups about consent, sex and hooking up. Each focus group will
be about an hour and we will provide food and drinks. We have four groups available to participate in:
1. Male identified
2. Female identified
3. Mixed gender
4. LGBTQ
Once we have formed
each group, we will find a time
that works best for those who would like to participate. If you are interested
in taking part in one of these groups,

STRIVE 2012
Apply to go to UMBC's Leadership Summit!
The deadline is this coming Friday, November 11th at 5:00 p.m..
As a reminder, STRiVE is a 5-day student leadership retreat sponsored
by the Office of Student Life and SGA. STRiVE participants
hone leadership skills, develop campus and social change projects,
build community and have a lot fun. STRiVE's many activities will keep
you engaged, and you'll emerge feeling confident, inspired and
connected. Participants' ratings of the retreat have been off the
charts. 100% of participants say they'd recommend STRiVE to a friend.
STRiVE
2012 will take place from January 9 - 13, 2012, at the
Skycroft Conference Center in Middletown, Maryland (participants will
travel by bus from the UMBC campus). A team of 12 UMBC staff members
and student leaders will serve as facilitators for the retreat.
